Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of delivery nursing practice reinforcement simulation education on nursing students' knowledge and confidence.
Method: We developed a delivery nursing simulation program for reinforcing maternity practice of nursing students. The participants were 38 nursing students, 23 in experimental group and 15 in control group. Students' knowledge and confidence on delivery nursing were surveyed at the beginning of the program as well as at the end of the program.
Result: Students¡¯ knowledge and confidence showed a significant difference before and after the simulation program.
Conclusion: The results from evaluating the effects of delivery nursing reinforcement simulation education showed that the simulation program can provide nursing students with useful opportunities to practice delivery nursing care, even in the lack of actual clinical experience.
